Tinubu gets massive backing in Oyo

President BolaTinubu received overwhelming backing from leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party’s presidential direct primary election in Oyo State.

This came to the fore as party chieftains intensified mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

Party leaders described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, credible and orderly, while affirming Tinubu as the sole presidential choice of the APC.

Speaking after casting his vote at Ward 3 in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, declared that APC members were united in their support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to him, there was no other presidential candidate in the APC apart from Tinubu.

Alli, who has emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State for the next year’s elections, stressed that the President deserved another term owing to the reforms and policies introduced to reposition the nation’s economy and strengthen governance.

He said the Tinubu administration had addressed fuel scarcity, expanded infrastructure development and introduced the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to improve access to higher education loans for students.

The senator acknowledged prevailing economic hardship in parts of the country but maintained that the administration had laid a solid foundation for long-term prosperity.
