Tinubu congratulates President-elect, Faye and Senegalese citizens

President Bola Tinubu, in a show of solidarity and goodwill, has congratulated Bassirou Faye on his election as the President of Senegal.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed confidence in Faye’s capabilities, highlighting his impressive track record and potential for success in leading the people of Senegal.

He extended his best wishes for a fruitful tenure as the newly elected leader assumes the crucial responsibilities of guiding the nation.

Furthermore, President Tinubu commended, President Macky Sall, for overseeing an election characterised by its peaceful and transparent nature. This achievement, he said reflects positively on the democratic values upheld in Senegal and contributes to the region’s democratic progress.

Emphasising the significance of recent electoral successes in West Africa, President Tinubu underscores his belief in the robust foundation of democracy in the region.

He asserted that through good governance, justice, and fairness, democracy in West Africa will continue to flourish and strengthen, as evidenced by the recent elections in Senegal and Liberia.

In his capacity as the Chairman of ECOWAS, President Tinubu underscoresp the importance of Senegal’s successful election in advancing the organization’s objectives of promoting peace, upholding constitutional order, and fostering unity among member states.

He said this accomplishment serves as a testament to the collective efforts towards regional stability and cooperation.

President Tinubu extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Senegal, assuring them of Nigeria’s unwavering support and well wishes as they embark on this new chapter in their nation’s journey.
