President Bola Tinubu has hailed the Super Eagles for their commanding 4-1 triumph against Gabon in the FIFA World Cup qualifying Africa Playoff match on Wednesday. He described the victory as a vivid expression of the Nigerian character that rises, adapts, and prevails under pressure.
According to a statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu highlighted the team’s courage, balance, and precision, calling football one of Nigeria’s greatest symbols of unity and pride. He said the win has infused new energy into the nation’s spirit and strengthened resolve to secure World Cup qualification.
The President commended the players, coaching staff, and technical crew for their unwavering dedication and emphasised that their commitment has been key to the team’s success. He also pointed to Nigeria’s rich talent pool and the Super Eagles’ determination to regain their status among Africa’s top football teams.
