Tinubu celebrates Awofisayo’s 50-year enterprise, healthcare manufacturing legacy at 80

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated the five-decade entrepreneurial journey of industrialist and entrepreneur Albert Awofisayo, describing his contributions to healthcare infrastructure, pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturing as significant to Nigeria’s economic development.

In a congratulatory message to Awofisayo, who clocks 80 on Saturday, President Tinubu highlighted the octogenarian’s role in building indigenous enterprises, creating employment opportunities and opening avenues for younger Nigerians to venture into business, according to a statement signed by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday in Abuja.

The President said Awofisayo’s career exemplified the resilience and courage required to establish and sustain businesses in Nigeria over several decades.

Tinubu particularly commended his pioneering efforts in the development and modernisation of tertiary healthcare facilities, as well as his investments in indigenous cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

According to the President, Awofisayo’s contributions extend beyond personal business success, having helped strengthen local enterprise and provided opportunities for job creation and entrepreneurship.

“President Tinubu joins the family, friends, business associates and well-wishers of Prince Awofisayo in celebrating a distinguished Nigerian whose life has been defined by enterprise, resilience and service,” the statement said.

The President noted that over five decades, Awofisayo had “built businesses, created jobs and opened new paths for younger entrepreneurs,” adding that his journey demonstrated the “courage and staying power required to build enduring enterprises in Nigeria.”

Tinubu also acknowledged the industrialist’s longevity in business at a time when sustaining indigenous enterprises remains a major challenge in the Nigerian economy.

He wished Awofisayo a joyful 80th birthday celebration and prayed for continued good health, strength and many more fulfilling years with his family and loved ones.
