The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has reaffirmed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his reform-driven leadership as he marks his 74th birthday.

In a statement issued on Sunday on behalf of his colleagues in the NSGF, Governor Yahaya described Tinubu’s leadership as “courageous, purposeful and pivotal” to Nigeria’s long-term stability and economic transformation.

He noted that since assuming office, the president has demonstrated “uncommon resolve” in implementing wide-ranging reforms aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy and strengthening critical institutions.

While acknowledging that the reforms require sacrifices, the NSGF chairman said they are necessary steps towards achieving a more stable and prosperous future for Nigerians.

According to him, the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to inspire confidence and optimism across the country, providing a clear pathway for inclusive growth, national cohesion and sustainable development.

Governor Yahaya emphasised that Gombe State, alongside other northern states, remains firmly aligned with the president’s vision and is committed to ensuring the successful implementation of his policies.

“The bold and courageous decisions taken by Mr President reflect leadership driven by conviction and a genuine desire to secure a better future for the nation. These reforms, though challenging, are already laying the groundwork for lasting progress,” he said.

The governor further stressed that northern governors are united in their support for the continuity of Tinubu’s reform agenda beyond the current administration.

He also commended the president for his support of subnational governments and his inclusive approach to governance.

“We stand firmly with you and reiterate our full and unflinching support for your leadership and vision, not only for the present but also for the continuity of your transformative agenda into a second term,” he added.

He prayed for good health, strength and wisdom for the president as he continues to lead the country.
