President Bola Tinubu has approved the allocation of portfolios to five newly appointed executive directors at the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

This move is aimed at strengthening the commission’s capacity to fulfil its statutory mandate of promoting sustainable development across the North-Central geopolitical zone, according to a statement by Director, Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen.

The executive directors, whose appointments to the NCDC Board had been previously announced now have clearly defined roles to ensure effective governance and operational focus.

Biliquis Sanni has been assigned to oversee the Administration and Human Resources department, tasked with managing personnel and organisational matters within the commission. Aisha Rufai Ibrahim will lead the Commercial and Industrial Development portfolio, focusing on boosting economic activities and industrial growth within the region.

James Uloko has been designated to handle Corporate Services, responsible for the overall coordination and administrative support to the commission. Muhammad Bashar will manage the Finance portfolio, ensuring strict fiscal management and accountability of funds allocated to regional development projects. Atika Ajanah will take charge of Projects, driving the planning, implementation, and monitoring of key infrastructure and developmental initiatives under the commission’s purview.

President Tinubu stressed that these appointments and portfolio assignments are critical to accelerating the rate of development in the North Central region. He called on the new executive directors to work closely with the governing board and other stakeholders to ensure that the commission’s efforts translate into tangible benefits for the communities it serves.

The NCDC was established to address developmental challenges and harmonize efforts in one of Nigeria’s key geopolitical zones. These strategic leadership roles are expected to bring renewed focus and operational efficiency to the NCDC’s programs and projects.

As these executive directors settle into their roles, the administration under President Tinubu reiterates its commitment to balanced regional development and the overall socio-economic advancement of Nigeria’s North Central states.
