President Bola Tinubu has appointed Hon. Ginika Florence Tor as a member of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, representing the South-East, in a fresh round of 26 appointments into 10 federal agencies.
The appointment was announced on Monday in a State House statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Tor will serve alongside Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Engr. Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) as members of the commission.
Major General Junaid Bindawa was named Chairman of the commission, while Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo) and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna) were appointed commissioners. Former House of Representatives member Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas will serve as Secretary.
In other appointments, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while Abba Abubakar Aliyu retained his position as Director-General of the agency.
Also appointed were Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of NBET, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and Engr. Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation.
Before her latest appointment, Tor served as Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State at the Federal Character Commission from 2020 to 2025, having been appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari. She is currently the Principal Liaison Officer to the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Dr. Benjamin Obiora Nwoye, a position she assumed in April 2026.
According to the presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
