President Bola Tinubu has celebrated the birthday of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) Chairman, Zacch Adedeji commending his unwavering dedication, particularly in achieving the historic feat of meeting the 2025 budget targets in the third quarter.
In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu spotlighted Adedeji’s “visionary and charismatic dedication” in restructuring the 83-year-old agency, introducing fresh ideas, embracing global best practices, automating systems, and upskilling staff to boost Nigeria’s revenue profile and economic prosperity.
“I salute the NRS Chairman for his visionary and charismatic dedication in restructuring, aligning and managing the revenue profile of the country,” Tinubu stated. “He recorded a historic achievement, meeting the budget targets in the Third Quarter of 2025, and stimulating the economy for prosperity.”
President Tinubu also lauded Adedeji’s instrumental role in rolling out the National Single Window, a groundbreaking federal digital platform. “Zacch has also been instrumental in the adoption of the National Single Window, a transformative federal digital platform to streamline import and export processes, enhance transparency and reduce cargo clearance from 21 days to one week,” Tinubu remarked.
With a track record including senior roles at Procter & Gamble, Oyo State Commissioner of Finance, Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council—where he established the National Sugar Institute—and Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, Adedeji took the NRS helm in September 2023.
Tinubu prayed for divine blessings: “The Almighty God will grant the NRS Chairman more years of good health, wisdom and strength to keep serving the nation.”
Prominent leaders and professional bodies in Oyo State have also poured encomiums on Dr Zaccheus Adedeji, describing him as a distinguished technocrat, patriotic public servant and dependable ally of the media.
Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) commended his impactful leadership at the helm of the NRS.
In a statement personally signed, Senator Alli described the NRS chairman as a seasoned professional whose outstanding leadership and strategic vision have continued to strengthen revenue administration and enhance national economic stability.
The lawmaker noted that Dr Adedeji’s depth of experience in public finance, combined with his professionalism, has positioned the NRS as a critical institution driving government capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians.

He lauded Adedeji’s commitment to transparency, efficiency and innovation, stressing that these qualities have improved public confidence in revenue collection and management.
According to Senator Alli, the calm disposition, intellect and results-oriented approach of the NRS boss have earned him widespread respect across political, professional and institutional divides.
The senator expressed optimism that Dr Adedeji would continue to deploy his expertise in advancing fiscal reforms that support national development and economic resilience, while wishing him good health, renewed strength and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
Similarly, the immediate past Federal Character Commissioner and former Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, described him as an exemplary public officer with an enduring commitment to national service and institutional excellence.
Olowofela praised Adedeji’s integrity, competence and dedication to duty, noting that his career reflects a rare blend of academic brilliance and practical governance experience, which continues to benefit Nigeria’s fiscal management framework.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, hailed him as a dependable benefactor and friend of the media.
In a statement jointly signed by the NUJ Chairman, Akeem Abas and Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the union said Dr Adedeji has consistently demonstrated uncommon generosity and commitment to the growth and welfare of journalists, particularly in Oyo State.
The union noted that beyond his national assignment, the NRS boss has remained accessible and supportive, contributing to initiatives that strengthen professional practice and institutional development within the NUJ.
According to the statement, Dr. Adedeji’s leadership at the NRS reflects discipline, innovation and accountability, qualities that have enhanced revenue administration and promoted national economic sustainability.
The NUJ also commended him for his belief in the power of a responsible press as a catalyst for good governance, national cohesion and democratic accountability.
