The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police Command, CP Steve Yabanet, has ordered the deployment of police officers across the state to ensure the security of lives and property during the forthcoming Sallah celebration.

The CP ordered all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders to provide watertight security within their areas of responsibility.

He urged them to ensure adequate security at prayer grounds, recreational centres, markets, motor parks, and other public places where large gatherings are expected.

He said, “Criminals are by this notice warned to desist from perpetrating crime or face the wrath of the law when arrested.”

In a statement signed by the command’s PPRO, CSP Catherine Anene, the CP wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
