Tiffany Amber Nigeria showcased its Spring/Summer 2019 (SS19) Collection at the renowned Alara Lagos, bringing together fashion and tradition in an elegant way.
The collection featured simple yet striking designs crafted for comfort, with bold colors like black, yellow, green and purple. Tiffany Amber once again demonstrated its ability to combine cultural heritage with modern fashion.
However, beyond the stunning garments, the true highlight of the show was an exciting collaboration with Zashadu, Nigeria’s sustainable luxury brand. Zashadu, known for its handcrafted leather bags made from upcycled materials, added a unique touch to the SS19 collection with bespoke belt bags.
These accessories, available in various shades and patterns of blue, yellow and purple, were designed to complement Tiffany Amber’s pieces seamlessly. The partnership between the two brands was a celebration of both luxury and sustainability, reinforcing the idea that fashion can be both stylish and environmentally responsible.
The SS19 collection presented an array of designs, including mini-hoodie dresses, netlike ensembles, Ankara jackets, and slit Ankara dresses—each embodying a modern take on African femininity. Among these, the use of Adire fabric stood out as a tribute to Nigeria’s rich textile heritage, offering a refreshing blend of tradition and modernity. The inclusion of Zashadu’s artisanal belt bags as key accessories elevated the collection, adding an extra layer of sophistication while staying true to the eco-conscious ethos.
Speaking on the collaboration, Tiffany Amber’s Creative Director, Folake Coker, shared her excitement: “This partnership with Zashadu was about more than just fashion; it was about storytelling. We wanted to showcase the beauty of African craftsmanship and sustainability while ensuring that our designs reflect the evolving landscape of luxury.”
The showcase at Alara Lagos was a visual masterpiece, with each model effortlessly carrying the essence of culture, style and purpose. The combination of flowing designs with structured accessories demonstrated the power of collaboration in African fashion—where heritage meets innovation.
The Zashadu belt bags, with their intricate craftsmanship and sustainable ethos, served as more than just accessories; they were a statement of conscious luxury. This collaboration not only highlighted the commitment of both brands to promoting eco-friendly fashion, but it also reinforced their shared vision of preserving African artistry while embracing global trends.
By integrating Zashadu’s upcycled leather pieces into the collection, Tiffany Amber set a new precedent for the Nigerian fashion industry—where sustainability is not just an afterthought but an essential part of creative expression.
As the SS19 collection continues to make waves in the fashion space, one thing is clear: the Tiffany Amber X Zashadu collaboration was a masterstroke, proving that African fashion can be luxurious, cultural and sustainable—all at once. This partnership stands as a testament to the future of the industry, where brands unite to push the boundaries of innovation while staying rooted in their rich heritage.
