Pretty actress, Opeyemi Arike Adetunji, who has featured in Yoruba blockbuster movies like Omo Alhaja 2 and Omo Ijoba to mention a few, has opened up to Saturday Sun on her expectations in a relationship.

According to the Ile-Ife, Osun State indigene, she is ready to date and marry a younger lover, as long as he meets her criteria. “I can’t date or have anything to do with every woman’s man. It is a total turn off for me. I love men who are intelligent and good-looking. And yes, I can date a younger lover. There’s nothing wrong in marrying one who is younger than I am, after-all, age is nothing but a number. As long as the feeling is mutual, my happiness and that of my lover is key. I don’t care what people say,” she said.

Recalling the challenges faced in her early days in Nollywood and how she overcame them, Ms Adetunji stated, “The need to sell myself pushed me into combining acting with producing, because most directors and producers prefer known faces for their jobs. When I am producing a movie and also part of the cast, it is always a difficult task. It is not easy I must confess; you have to be in character, and at the same time on your toes. Another challenge is getting funds, and the industry being filled with unpleasant rivalry. But I am grateful. Life is all about accepting the challenges that come along your way.”

The leggy actress further revealed how stardom has affected her private life. “Now, everybody wants to know what is going on with me. My social life is also affected. I can’t post just anything or drop any comment on social media. But at the end of the day, I don’t have any regrets. It has been a beautiful journey with lots of lessons.”
