His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has assured residents that there will be no religious crisis in Ibadan, stressing the city’s long-standing culture of peaceful coexistence among people of diverse faiths.

The monarch gave this assurance on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, by delegates from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

“There cannot be a religious crisis in Ibadanland because there is no family compound that does not have adherents of various faiths: Christianity, Islam, and African Traditional Religion,” Oba Ladoja stated.

He further noted that every traditional ruler, including the Olubadan, is a father to all religions and must, therefore, promote unity, peace, and religious tolerance among all faithful.

The Olubadan expressed appreciation to the RCCG delegation for their visit and urged them not to relent in their prayers for the peace and progress of Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Earlier, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, congratulated Oba Ladoja on his enthronement as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking through Pastor Sola Adeyeye, a member of the RCCG Board of Trustees and National Coordinator of the Royal Fathers’ Fellowship, Pastor Adeboye pledged the Church’s continuous spiritual support for peace, harmony, and success throughout Oba Ladoja’s reign.

Pastor Adeboye also offered prayers for the Olubadan’s longevity, as well as for the prosperity of Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria.

Dignitaries present at the event included Oba (Barr.) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba (Sir) Kolawole Adegbola, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba John Olubunmi Isioye, Osi Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Biodun Kola-Daisi, Osi Olubadan Designate; Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, Asipa Olubadan Designate; Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland; and Oba Muritala Adebayo Akande, Ekerin Olubadan Designate.
