Theparkpay Technologies Limited, a leading cross-border payment company, has launched a new digital application that puts its payment infrastructure directly in the hands of individuals and businesses.
With the new app, the company says its goal is simple: help users keep more of their money wherever it needs to go.
According to Theparkpay, moving money across borders has often been slow, costly, and involves multiple intermediaries, each adding fees and delays.
The company notes that people and businesses across Africa lose value simply transferring their own funds. Examples include freelancers paid in dollars, families sending funds home, and importers paying suppliers in China or Dubai. The losses come from poor rates, hidden fees, and payment systems not built with them in mind.
“Theparkpay exists to close that gap, and to keep closing it,” the company stated.
Theparkpay said the new app is not starting from zero. The company is licensed across four major continents. Most recently, it secured a Payment Service Provider, PSP, licence in Canada, one of the world’s more demanding regulatory environments.
“For customers and partners alike, that is the difference between a promising idea and infrastructure you can build on with confidence,” the company said.
Speaking on the technology, Chukwuemeka Akujobi, Director, Risk, Compliance & Enterprise Growth at Theparkpay Technologies, said:
“We did not set out to build another payment app. We built the rails, earned the licences and opened the corridors first, so that when we came to the public, we could offer something most cannot: real reach and real value, kept in the customer’s hands. This is only the beginning.”
Theparkpay says its ambition is to become the simplest and most competitive way for people and businesses to move money in and out of Africa and across the world.
