The Michael Njoku Onwunali Royal Dynasty of Emedike, Umuchoko Chokoneze in Ezinihitte Local Government Area, Imo State has announced the passing of their matriarch, Ezinne Lolo Kezaiah Amurunwanyi Njoku, (nee Ukasoanya) a.k.a Nwanneanyi, mother of Senior Deputy News Editor, Daily Sun newspaper, Emma Njoku.

A devout Christian, Ezinne Kezaiah variously served as a leader both in the church and in the community. Her leadership role, which spanned over five decades, started in Lagos where she was the chair lady of Chokoneze Women’s Development Union for many years.

Her motherly and friendly disposition endeared her to many, especially in her community where she was popularly known as Nwanneanyi, which means “our sister.”

She is survived by children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, friends and well wishers. Her burial arrangements will be announced by the family.
