The Sun Award Winners 2023: Ifeanyi Nwachukwu: Businessman of the Year

By Henry Akubuiro

In a country where massive immigration has seen many Nigerian youths moving abroad in search of the Golden Fleece, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, is one young man who believes that prosperity dwells in the country. He has built an enviable career in real estate and hospitality industries across the length and breadth of Nigeria by maximising his corporate leadership and scholarly attributes.

Nwachukwu is among a select group of Nigerians who have carved a niche in murky waters by fitting into the role of a mentor, role model, pathfinder, leader, philanthropist, beacon, pillar of support and a bridge builder. He first made a name in Nollywood, Nigeria’s movie industry, and the music industry as a movie maker, producing notable films and songs before venturing into the world of real estate, adding the metaphor “guru” to his brand within a short time.

In less than 10 years into his new found love, the Founder/CEO of Richland Property and Homes, Lagos has reached a full breeding plumage in Nigeria’s real estate sector, becoming a major reference point.

Directly connected to over 100 estates across Nigeria and hectares of land for speculation, investors and end users, as well as property development, he has earned the trust of many Nigerians and clients by guaranteeing return on investment and, above all, shielding clients from rampant legal tussles from third parties who have made developing property in Lagos, for instance, a nightmare.

Some of the estates he has developed are Silverwood Estate, Pearlview Estate, Vintage View Estate, Royal Garden Estate, all in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos and Hiltop Estate, Enugu among others.

A doctorate degree holder in real Estate Management from Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana, Nwachukwu’s vision is to make home ownership a reality for all and to create wealth by empowering enterprising individuals.

A very articulate, upward-looking and confident silent achiever, he exudes a great belief in himself, with an unwavering faith that nothing is impossible for an aspiring and hard-working fellow.

As a philanthropist, Nwachukwu has drastically transformed the lives of many Nigerian youths, once donating over 30 plots of land in one of his estates in Lagos. Above all, his commitment and support to the youths and nation building have earned him numerous awards, including African Brand Award 2021, in recognition of his business creativity, innovations and quality service delivery; the Most Outstanding Person in Humanitarian Services and Societal Development from the Yoruba Youth Assembly; West Africa Youth Council in 2023 for being an entrepreneur of note, and many more.

Nwachukwu has supported a number of TV reality shows, including Filmhouse Africa Reality TV show and the Base of the Legend reality TV show, where he gave all the contestants plots of land in Lagos.

Nwachukwu, who was born on May 7, 1984, hails from Agbani in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. He wins The Sun Businessman of the Year Award, 2023.
