Texas Tech University unveils Adeshina as Freshman

Two-time National Sports Festival champion, Temitope Adeshina has been unveiled as a Freshman by Texas Tech University.

Adeshina, a two-time Confederation of African Athletics champion in the women’s long jump, will by January start her collegiate sojourn with the Red Raiders.

She owns a personal record of 1.94m in the women’s high jump and holds the African Athletics Championship silver medal.

Adeshina graduated from Trinity Secondary School in Kwara State and joins the likes of compatriots and triple jumper Ruth Usoro, sprinter Rosemary Chukwuma.

Other Nigerian athletes in Texas Tech are Onaara Obamuwaguan (triple jump) and Mercy Umoibang (60m and 200m), high jump sensation Best Erhire.
