The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has inaugurated three projects worth ₦866,788,453.84 million naira at the College of Education in Akamkpa, Cross River State.

The projects were inaugurated by the Executive Secretary of the Fund, Arc. Sonny Echono, as part of activities earmarked for the 2024 TETFund Management Retreat in Cross River State.

Arc. Echono, while inaugurating the projects, said the projects were executed in the college under the 2018 Special High Impact Intervention and merged years 2021–2023 Annual Intervention.

Giving a breakdown of the projects, he said, “The three projects include the School of Education Building under the 2018 Special High Impact Intervention costing ₦345,728,721.00.”

“The Department of Cultural and Creative Arts under the Years 2021–2023 (merged) Annual Interventions, constructed at ₦236,071,119.97.”

“Also commissioned is the Department of Human Kinetics and Physical Education under the Years 2021–2023 (merged) Annual Interventions, constructed at ₦284,986,613.87,” he said.

He commended the college for the successful delivery of the projects and urged that the buildings be well maintained to serve generations to come.

In his speech, Prof. Patrick Asuquo, the provost of the institution, said the projects will provide students with state-of-the-art facilities, an advanced learning environment, and resources necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.
