The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero on Thursday honoured the invitation extended to him by the police in the company of popular lawyers and activists, Femi Falana SAN, Maxwell Opara and Deji Adeyanju.

Daily Sun earlier reported that the police invited Ajaero for questioning over alleged terrorism financing among others.

Videos circulating on social media early Thursday showed hundreds of members of organised labour who converged on the Labour House in Abuja chanting solidarity songs.

It was learnt that the unionists converged preparatory to accompanying the NLC President to the Force Headquarters.

However, Falana, who is the NLC lawyer, was said to have prevailed on the gathering to stay back at the Labour House to forestall a rowdy scene at the Force Headquarters.

Falana assured the NLC members that the union leader was in good hands with the team of lawyers that would accompany him to honour the police invitation.
