The extent of injury to Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi has now been disclosed as the striker faces a lengthy period on the sidelines after he ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in training with Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice. Nice reported the unfortunate incident on their official website that the Nigerian could be out between eight months to one year.

“Injured during training, Terem Moffi underwent additional tests today. These confirmed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” read part of the official statement.

An ACL could keep a player out for as long as eight months.

The 25-year-old Moffi has scored 20 goals in 52 matches for the South of France club.

Although, Moffi’s season might have ended even before it has begun after he ruptured his ACL in training, his father told SCORENigeria the striker is in high spirits.

“Yes, it’s true Terem suffered the injury. It happened on the penultimate day of their pre-season in Austria,” the player’s father, Leo Moffi, informed. “But he is in high spirits and taking it in his stride.”

SCORENigeria further gathered that the 25-year-old striker has now been given the option of rehabilitation and surgery later or surgery now.

His immediate family will soon be around him in France to further comfort him.
