Tems, Wizkid, Burna Boy nominated for NAACP Awards

The 56th NAACP Image Award nominees have been released, with Tems, Ayo Edebiri, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Cynthia Erivo among the notable personalities honored this year. The awards recognize remarkable talent in a range of areas.

The award ceremony will take place on February 22 at the Pasadena Civic Center and will be televised live on BET and CBS. This year’s theme is “Our Stories, Culture, and Excellence.”

Usher and Burna Boy have been nominated for “Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (Contemporary)” for their song “Coming Home,” while Wizkid has been nominated for “Outstanding International Song” for his tune “Piece of My Heart” with Brent Faiyaz.

Tems has also received recognition in the same category for her song “Love Me JeJe.”

Tyla is up for “Outstanding New Artist,” while Ayo Edebiri has five nominations, including “Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series,” “Outstanding Voiceover,” and others.
