Speaking on the inspiration behind the song, Muyeez said the record captures his personal journey of learning in the public eye while remaining focused on his dreams.
“At 17, I’m learning what it means to grow in public and stay true to myself. This song is about that journey — choosing focus over noise and believing in your path even when it’s not always clear. I’m still learning, and I know a lot of us are. It’s okay to take your time and trust the process,” he said.
The new release follows his recent project, Mortal Kombat, which signposted his artistic growth and expanding range. The project underscored his ability to balance youthful relatability with a disciplined and evolving sound that resonates strongly with younger audiences.
Born Moshood Abdulmuiz, the singer first gained widespread recognition in 2023 with Instagram, featuring Seyi Vibez, which reached the number one spot on the Apple Music Nigeria chart. Since then, he has recorded steady growth across streaming platforms, cultivating a dedicated Gen-Z fan base through consistent releases, digital engagement and messaging centred on focus and self-belief.
Beyond music, Muyeez represents a new generation of Nigerian creatives whose influence cuts across youth culture and digital communities.
His growing connection with young listeners, combined with sustained artistic credibility, continues to position him as a teenage star to watch.
As part of efforts to deepen that connection, the singer is preparing for a high school and campus tour across Nigeria and West Africa, while also working on his debut album expected to further define his sound and perspective.
The single, 17, is now available on major streaming platforms.
