A new tech startup, LisBon, is poised to revolutionise Africa’s transportation, logistics, and trade sectors. The app, set to launch its public testing phase on November 18, in Delta State, aims to address inefficiencies and create a more sustainable and equitable future for the continent.
Unlike traditional ride-hailing apps, LisBon offers a comprehensive platform that benefits both users and drivers. Users can earn credits for every ride, reducing future transportation costs, while drivers receive annual allowances and qualify for a pension after a certain number of years. The app also features a unique fixed routes system, allowing drivers to monetise daily commutes by offering shared rides with set pick-up and drop-off points. The brain behind LisBon, Alpha Okechukwu, is driven by a vision to empower individuals and communities. Okechukwu, inspired by his grandfather’s prophecy, has overcome adversity to create a platform that could transform millions of lives.
“LisBon doesn’t just sell transportation or logistics. It sells wealth, comfort, and security. By empowering users and drivers alike, we’re creating opportunities for financial independence and social mobility,” Okechukwu explained.
To showcase its capabilities, LisBon has partnered with Delta State’s inaugural DelFest 2024 as the official transport partner. The festival will provide a platform for the app to demonstrate its potential to revolutionise transportation in Nigeria and beyond.
