TD Africa, one of Sub-Saharan Africa’s foremost technology distributors, has achieved two major international certifications, ISO 42001 for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems and ISO 27701 for Privacy Information Management Systems.
The company announced the milestone as part of its commitment to responsible AI deployment and stronger data governance across Africa. Industry experts say the certifications place TD Africa among the continent’s pioneers in preparing for an AI-driven future.
Commenting on the achievement, TD Africa’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, said the certifications underscored the company’s dedication to building Africa’s digital resilience on trust, governance, and accountability.
“These certifications are not just badges of compliance; they reflect our deep commitment to building Africa’s digital resilience with trust, governance, and accountability at the core. Africa must not remain a passive consumer of global innovation but must actively co-create solutions that reflect our unique realities”, Ekeh said.
ISO 42001, the world’s first governance standard for artificial intelligence, establishes guidelines for ethical and transparent AI deployment in line with human values. ISO 27701, on its part, ensures organisations handle personal data with integrity and security, a critical safeguard at a time of rising global privacy concerns.
