Global electronics giant TCL, in collaboration with SIMS Smart Tech, the dedicated after-sales division of SIMS Nigeria Limited, is accelerating efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s technical workforce through its nationwide TCL–SIMS Smart Tech AC Installers Training initiative. The programme is aimed atempowering installers with the practical skills and product knowledge necessary to support the brand’s growing range of air conditioners.
The maiden edition, held in Kano, attracted both emerging and experienced AC technicians eager to deepen their professional expertise. Participants underwent practical training on the installation, servicing, and upkeep of TCL air-conditioning systems, under the guidance of certified TCL facilitators.
The session offered technicians a closer look at the engineering behind TCL’s modern cooling solutions, with a focus on energy efficiency, performance longevity, and best-practice installation techniques.
According to Subash Seghal, General Manager, SIMS After Sales Service, the Kano training played a crucial role in building industry trust.
“Consumers now have even more reason to choose TCL, knowing that certified hands are ready to install and maintain their ACs,” he said.
Following Kano’s success, the training moved to Abuja, drawing participants from across the Federal Capital Territory and neighbouring regions. The Abuja programme offered deeper exposure to TCL’s advanced AC technologies, with sessions covering diagnostics, installation techniques, and professional maintenance procedures.
Anirban Bose, General Manager at SIMS Nigeria, noted that well-trained installers are essential to delivering superior value to consumers.
“When technicians are trained and confident, consumers enjoy better performance and long-term value from TCL products,” he stated.
SIMS Smart Tech also highlighted that the growing number of trained installers is giving dealers greater confidence to partner with TCL, knowing that strong after-sales support is being developed nationwide.
The next phase of the TCL–SIMS Smart Tech AC Installers Training will be held in Lagos on Wednesday, November 26. This edition is expected to further expand the network of certified technicians equipped to support TCL’s expanding customer base and reinforce the brand’s service-driven reputation.
