The Managing Director of Muna Sylver Nigeria Limited, Chi Ezeh, has congratulated the Area Controller, Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Comptroller Frank Onyeka, on his sterling performance which earned him an award at the Apapa Command recently.
She urged the Comptroller to surpass the N1 trillion revenue milestones recorded by Comptroller Nnadi Dera at the command in 2024. Comptroller Frank Onyeka was one of the five newly-promoted Comptrollers from the Apapa Port Command given special recognition awards for their excellent service in 2024 which Onyeka specially recognised for revenue generation.
Chi, who gave this commendation in a press statement challenged the new TCIP Customs boss to replicate the sterling revenue feat at Tin Can Island Port.
Her words: “I am specially congratulating Comptroller Onyeka on his recent appointment as Area Controller of Tin Can Customs and also for his admirable performance in revenue generation displayed in his former capacity as Deputy Comptroller in-charge of Apapa Port Gate.” “When you look at Comptroller Onyeka’s history in recent years in Customs, you will observe that he has been creating records especially in revenue generation. He set new revenue records at Onne port before moving to Apapa where he was part of the winning team which collected N2.3 trillion in 2024.
“The expectation of industry stakeholders is that Onyeka’s emergence as Tin Can Customs Area Controller would mean more revenue milestones. However, this is no small feat when you consider the fact that he is replacing a high-performer in ACG Dera Nnadi who hit N1 trillion and remodeled the TCIP administrative building.”
Chi, who is also a Vice President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Western Zone, expressed optimism that Onyeka’s performance at TCIP will lead to more significant attainments in revenue generation and trade facilitation.
Meanwhile, she challenged the new TCIP Customs boss to maintain the high-degree of cleanliness and orderliness established at the Command under the guidance of ACG Nnadi. Noting the poor culture of maintenance especially on public assets in Nigeria, Princess advised Comptroller Onyeka to ensure the state-of-the-art facilities at Tin Can Island Port are efficiently utilized to maximise the value of the modern equipment.
40 years after the initial construction of the TCIP Customs administrative building, Nnadi carried out a transformational renovation and built a Quarter Guard podium and Police Gate House which was commissioned by the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Adewale Adeniyi, recently.
