Residents of Ibi local government area of Taraba state have appealed to the Taraba State and federal government and other relevant agencies and organizations to come to their aid as their means of livelihoods have been basically destroyed.
Several communities across the local government are seriously affected by the flood that has ravaged parts of the local government following recent heavy downpour.
Some of the residents who spoke to our correspondent on Sunday appealed to the state, federal government and spirited individuals to as a matter of urgency come to their aid with basic necessities as they have lost homes and belongings, farms and animals and businesses.
Hajia Mainunat Angwa, a resident of Angwan Sarki in Ibi LGA, while speaking to journalists lamented that the natural disaster has brought untold hardship to them and maintained that they have lost property worth millions of naira to the flood.
She that most of those affected are left homeless and forced to take refuge in IDP camps and relatives homes.
She called on the Taraba state emergency management agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to assist them to rebuild their homes and provide relief materials to cushion their hardships.
“We are calling on the government to come to our aid. We have lost everything including our farms,” she cried out.
