Operative of Nigerian police, Taraba State command have arrested Four members of a car theft syndicate and recovered Four stollen vehicles.
The State Commissioner of Police CP Emmanuel Bretet disclose this on Tuesday at a press briefing in Jalingo.
He said the success came as a result of intensified intelligence based operations through clandestine partnership with community members.
He said the suspects include Mohammed Yahaya, 34yrs native of  Adamawa state, Mati Rabo, 34yrs from Wuro Hausa , Adamawa State, Danlami Musa, 32yrs from Sangere, Adamawa State, and Babayo Abdullahi, 42yrs from Dan-Tambari , Bauchi state.
“On 14/05/2025, at about 1730hrs , acting on credible intelligence,  operatives attached to State intelligence Department of the  Command led by one Inspector Idi Mansir Mohammed, successfully arrested a group of suspected armed robbers and vehicle snatchers and recovered four stolen vehicles along Mile six area , Jalingo.
“The exhibits recovered are:
1. Toyota SE Camry, 2013/2014 model with REG NO: GGU539SV Abuja, Toyota Corrola LE, 2003 model with REG NO:KJA258GF Lagos, Toyota Corrola LE, 2003 model with REG NO:YAB-693 Abuja, and Toyota Corrola S, 2011/2014 model with REG NO:RSH 39CP -Abuja.
“Investigation reveal that, the suspects belong to a well coordinated syndicate that specializes in vehicle theft and snatching. Their criminal activities  spanned across several states, including Taraba , Adamawa , Gombe, Bauchi, Lagos and Rivers states. The investigation is still ongoing.
“I will not conclude this press briefing without applauding the efforts of my Police operatives and all who collaborated with us to actualize this feat. May I also reiterate the commitment of the Command to continue to protect lives and property of  citizens. I  am equally using this medium to warn all disgruntled elements and enemies of peace intending to cause any form of violence or any act that is inimical to the harmonious existence of the people of Taraba to desist as the law will not spare them.
“The Command under my watch will remain resolute on its pursuit for lasting peace in the state. We are also taking steps to reunite the stolen vehicles with their rightful owners”.
