Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritising the security of lives and property across the state.

The governor stated this while handing over 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux patrol vans to the state security outfit, Taraba Marshal, to strengthen grassroots security and combat crime.

Governor Kefas, who was represented at the event by Nelson Lens, a member of the State House of Assembly, explained that the vehicles and motorbikes were provided to support the operational efforts of the agency in safeguarding the state.

He recalled that when he assumed office, residents of the state could hardly sleep peacefully due to insecurity, noting that the situation has significantly improved, making Taraba safer for its people.

He commended the various security agencies operating in the state for their sustained efforts and also appreciated residents for their continued cooperation with security operatives.

In his remarks, the Commandant of Taraba Marshal, retired CP Agyole Abeh, praised Governor Kefas for ensuring a conducive security environment in the state.

Retired CP Abeh acknowledged the consistent support the outfit has received from the governor over the years, describing the recent procurement of the vehicles and motorbikes as a continuation of that support.

He disclosed that the 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux vehicles would be distributed across the 16 local government areas of the state to further strengthen security at the grassroots.
