Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas has ordered the recertification of all Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) to ensure land titles comply with current regulations.
The six-month exercise, announced on Sunday by Dr Joshua Maaku Mark, Director General of Taraba Geographic Information System (TAGIS), will incur penalties for non-compliance after the deadline.
“The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has approved the recertification of all Certificates of Occupancy in Taraba State,” Mark stated.
“We urge all landed property owners to take this matter seriously and ensure their Certificates of Occupancy are recertified within the stipulated time frame to avoid any penalties.”
Property owners must visit TAGIS headquarters, formerly the Bureau of Land and Survey, to complete the process.
This is the first such exercise in Taraba, following the establishment of TAGIS to replace the Bureau in May 2025.
