The Taraba House of Assembly on Thursday adopted the 2025 budget proposal presented to them by the executive after adding ₦1.5 billion to the initial proposal.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Mr Nelson Len, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Thursday after the adoption of the budget by the House. He said that the increase became necessary to take care of the new Ministry of Tertiary Education, which was created after the submission of the budget.
The Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, had earlier presented a ₦429.8 billion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year to the House for consideration.

Consequently, the House added ₦1.5 billion to the initial amount, bringing the total to ₦431.3 billion, and has passed it into law, pending the assent of the Governor.
Len explained that the creation of the new ministry further opened revenue generation for the state, as well as expected services being captured in the budget.
He said that the government was determined to ensure adequate servicing of the budget to enable all sectors to perform above 70 per cent in 2025.
