Forum of aggrieved stakeholders and aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the last state Congress of the party in Taraba has called on national secretariat of the party to constitute caretaker committee for the party in the state.

The Secretary of the Forum, Sani Abdullahi Tulu who stated this during a press briefing in Jalingo on Friday said the call has become necessary following the nullification of the state executive by a Federal High Court in Jalingo.

Sani Abdullahi Tulu said the Federal High court judgement nullifying the purported election of state officials of the APC in Taraba and ordering the conduct of a fresh election to fill in the vacuum calls for the need for APC national secretariat to constitute Caretaker committee to run the affairs of the party pending the conduct of a fresh Congress.

Tulu lauded the federal High court, Jalingo for its landmark verdict and appreciated the “concern and loyalty of party members throughout the period of the legal battle which is aimed at repositioning the party in Taraba state to achieve greater results in the forthcoming general elections”.

He reiterated that their struggle resulting in court action was not in anyway aimed at undermining anybody in the APC but to ensure that due process was followed for the progress of the party.

The secretary while assuring the continued support of the group to the Apc in Taraba state, urged eligible voters in the party to avail themselves of the opportunity to register in the ongoing Continuous Voter’s Registration CVR by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC .

He described Voter cards as a pivotal tool of electing credible leaders that will represent their interest in the forthcoming general elections.
