Petroleum Tankers Drivers (PTD), yesterday, threatened to boycott Jebba- Mokwa and Tatabu Bridge in the distribution of petroleum products.
In a statement, the Media Relations Officer of the drivers, Mr. Abdulkadir Garba, said that due to the deplorable condition of the roads, the drivers can longer take the risk of plying them.
According to him, despite the visit by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the road leading to the Tatabu Bridge is still in a deplorable state. Also, Jebba to Mokwa, where trucks spend days on the road, is still a sorry sight.
To this effect, he said, the National Chairman of PTD, Salimon Oladiti, has called on government to expedite action on the repairs of the road because when the rains set in, the situation would be totally out of control.
Oladiti also suggested the use of other depots outside Lagos as a way of decongesting the gridlock in Apapa and easing the problem of fuel scarcity.
“Where this method as well as the system Two-B is sustained, the perennial problem of fuel scarcity will be a thing of the past,” he said.
