The Achievers Awards International (TAAI) has honoured 100 outstanding achievers across Africa at its 2026 awards ceremony held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
Organised by Glomay Alliance Ltd, the event, themed “Building Lasting Legacy,” celebrated individuals recognised for their contributions to entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation and community development.
The ceremony marked the climax of a day-long programme that began with a conference focused on transformation, leadership and enterprise development.
According to the organisers, they selected the 100 honourees from more than 500 nominations across Africa after a screening process assessed their impact, innovation, business growth and contributions to society.
The award recipients included entrepreneurs, creatives, technology innovators, media practitioners, beauty and wellness professionals, educators, real estate developers, humanitarian workers and public service leaders. They comprised outstanding individuals under 40, alongside established achievers above that age who are building enduring legacies.
Each recipient received the TAAI Medal of Legacy and a Certificate of Excellence. The TAAI 2026 Official Magazine – Top 100 Special Edition also documented their achievements, featuring HRM Sobola Tayo, popularly known as Sotayo Gaga, as its cover personality.
The ceremony featured red-carpet interviews, comedy, musical performances, cultural displays and networking sessions, bringing together entrepreneurs, entertainers, industry leaders, media personalities and other dignitaries.
Emotional moments punctuated the event as several recipients reflected on their journeys and acknowledged the contributions of their mothers, mentors, teams and other supporters. The presentations also included citations highlighting the awardees’ achievements and professional milestones.
Speaking at the ceremony, the convener said the awards were designed to recognise individuals whose work was contributing to Africa’s development.
“We are not just honouring 100 people; we are unveiling 100 legacies. Africa’s future is not in government alone; it is in these young achievers building businesses, creating jobs, solving problems and inspiring millions,” the convener said.
The convener added that the initiative aimed to acknowledge individuals committed to creating opportunities and driving positive change across the continent.
The organisers also announced that the honourees would automatically become members of the TAAI Legacy Circle, a network established to promote mentorship, collaboration, funding opportunities and increased visibility across Africa.
The event ended with tributes to the planning team, partners, and volunteers, followed by a group photo with the cover personality, HRM Sobola Tayo.
