An unnamed electricity vandal has been electrocuted in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The incident happened around a high-tension cable that passes along New Airport Road by the Poultry Farm area.
The vandal, who is suspected to be a resident in the community, was electrocuted in the early hours of this morning, Monday, July 14, at about 1:30 am when public power briefly went off and was promptly electrocuted when power was restored.
He had with him some appliances like pliers and wore short socks. Some onlookers say he resides within the area.

Early this morning, when our correspondent visited the scene, residents congregated in large numbers at the scene to look at the lifeless body of the vandal hanging on the high-tension cable.
Residents of the area have been grappling with frequent vandalism of electricity appliances like transformers, and it is unusual to attempt to vandalise a high-tension cable at night.
Officials of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) have not formally reacted to the incident, and the lifeless body of the vandal is still hanging on the wires.
