A 36-year-old suspected cultist, Muyideen Olatunbosun, has been arrested by the police in Lagos, while a rubber-made pistol, axe, criminal charms and illicit drugs were allegedly recovered from him.
Police Police Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos, SP Abimbola Adebisi disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the police, Olatunbosun, was arrested during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol along Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu.
Adebisi said the arrest followed credible intelligence received during the patrol.

“A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of one rubber-made pistol, one axe, criminal charms and an illicit drug popularly known as ‘Ice’,” the police spokesperson said.
“The suspect is currently in Police custody and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Efforts are also ongoing to apprehend other members of his alleged cult group.”
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations against cultism and other forms of criminality across the state, while urging members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the Police through any of the emergency lines.
