The Special Adviser to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Political Affairs, Hon. Mohammed Kassim, cautioned against the distortion of information intended to tarnish Nasarawa State’s image following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Governor Sule’s reelection.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Lafia, Kassim emphasized the need for responsible reporting, stating, “The era of politics and court cases are over, and individuals previously recruited by opposition parties for campaigns against Governor Sule should cease such activities.”
He clarified that recent protests by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters, where tires were burned in front of their secretariat, should not be misconstrued as a statewide crisis. He warned reporters against spreading fake news that could incite violence, urging verification of information before dissemination.
“The new government will not tolerate such actions,” Kassim asserted, acknowledging Governor Sule’s tolerance but cautioning against taking it for granted. He emphasized the governor’s commitment to peace, unity, and good governance.
Kassim congratulated the governor on the Supreme Court verdict, stating, “Engr A.A Sule won legitimately and is widely loved for his simplicity and remarkable achievements across the state.” He urged the media to support the government in its quest for progress and unity in Nasarawa State.
