Ahead of the Supreme Court judgement on Kano governorship elections, a Joint Secretary Meeting in the state has warned the supporters of the New Nigeria People Party and All Progressives Congress to desist from any conduct that could undermine the peace in the state.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel who briefed the press, Friday, on the outcome of the security meeting disclosed that the police and sister-security agencies have mapped out strategies to ensure adequate security in the state.

He recalled that they had foiled a number of plots by some faceless political pressure groups and interests who were hell-bent on fomenting trouble in the state.

He appreciated the leadership of both political parties for reiterating their commitments to the peace of the state for the third time since they both signed the accords months ago.

He appreciated the people of the state for their cooperation, support and understanding, “as the joint security agencies in the state will ever remain committed to the protection of the lives and properties of all residents in the state.

In attendance at the meeting also were the leaderships of the both political parties as well as some local government chairmen in the state.
