Super Falcons

The Olympics and Women’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers played by Nigeria’s Super Falcons counted for little as they failed to improve on their FIFA rankings, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The World Football has released the final women’s ranking for the year 2023 and Falcons dropped to the 34th position in the World.

The victories recorded in the qualifier could only give them 1627.12 points, though remained the best-placed African country.

Bayana Bayana of South Africa is placed 52nd in the World and 2nd in Africa with 1497.54 points and Atlas Lioness of Morocco is in the 60th position in the World and 3rd in the continent with 1411.58 points.

The Black Queens of Ghana and the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon completed the African top 5 in the rankings.

Falcons will hope to have a better placement when the new ranking is released in March 2024.
