Super Eagles and Fulham star Alex Iwobi is certain Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite a slow start to their qualification campaign, Eric Chelle’s team made the playoffs.

Nigeria finished second in Group C, behind South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final of the playoffs on Thursday, 13 November, in Rabat, Morocco.

Iwobi said they will do their best to secure a place at the World Cup.

“We’ve managed to rescue ourselves from the dead,” Iwobi told CNN.

“We know we have the players and the abilities to compete against any other country in the world,” he added.

“We have last year’s African best player (Ademola Lookman), the year before that (Victor Osimhen). It’ll be a shame if we don’t make it, but we have a lot of confidence. We just have to prove it to ourselves.”
