The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has stated that Eric Chelle, the Super Eagles’ head coach, will not resign his position.

NFF president Ibrahim Gusau has stated that the 44-year-old has one year left on his present contract and enjoys working with high-quality players.

This comes as sources suggest that Chelle is being pursued by various teams following the Eagles’ outstanding performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

“We still have a one-year contract with Eric (Chelle) and no matter what, he has to wait until his contract expires,” Gusau said, according to SoccerNet.

“And we don’t want to bring distraction to him, because we understand that he enjoys working with Nigeria.

“It’s not the issue of the money, but will he achieve what he wants to achieve in his career?”
