The Super Eagles of Nigeria moved three positions to 38th in the latest FIFA rankings, released on Wednesday.

In the past month, the Super Eagles played two competitive matches.

Eric Chelle’s men defeated Gabon 4-1 in the 2026 World Cup playoff semi-finals. They subsequently drew 1-1 with the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final before losing 4-3 on penalties.

Despite failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, those results were enough to nudge the Super Eagles up the table.

Nigeria’s new points total stands at 1,502.46, placing the country fifth among African nations behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
