Sun Editor, Emma Njoku, loses mother-in-law

The family of the late Nze David Anyamele Ahamba of Ndiuhu, Umueze Chokoneze, in Ezinihitte Local Government Area, Imo State has announced the passing of their mother and grandmother, Lolo Rose Akunacha Ahamba (nee Nwokocha).

Lolo Ahamba, who was the mother-in-law of the Senior Deputy News Editor, Daily Sun, Emma Njoku, died in the early hours of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, during a brief illness, two days to her 76th birthday.

A devout Christian in the Anglican Communion, Lolo Ahamba was a retired headmistress and very active women leader, whose benevolence and friendly disposition endeared her to the people of her community and others who came across her.

Her husband, the late Nze David Ahamba, who joined his ancestors in 2018, was the traditional prime minister of Chokoneze Ancient Kingdom until it was split into two autonomous communities (Umueze and Umuchoko).

Lolo Ahamba is survived by children, grandchildren, brothers, sister, in-laws, friends, and well wishers. Her burial arrangements will be announced by the family.
