Former National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu said the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is prepared to enter into a pact with Nigerians over the cost of petrol if voted into office in 2027.
Nwosu made this known as a guest on ‘Daybreak’, an Arise TV programme on Thursday.
Atiku has restated his resolve to reverse subsidy removal on petrol undertaken by the Bola Tinubu administration, citing its negative impact on Nigerians.
His stance has pitched him against the incument administration, which accused him of deceiving Nigerians to secure their support having initially supported subsidy removal.
According to Nwosu, Atiku’s campaign will provide Nigerians with specific details of how the policy would be implemented, including the expected price of petrol.

He added that the former vice president would make a clear commitment to Nigerians before assuming office.
The ex-ADC boss, “Atiku will sign a contract. We will soon launch our campaign proper. We are just beginning the bonfire.”
He further disclosed that the ADC has begun preparation on Atiku’s policies to be implemented within the first 100 days in office.
This, he said, was to ensure the candidate’s campaign promises were backed by clearly-defined plans.
“Atiku’s campaign is already sitting down to work on his first 100th day in office, so that we don’t go ahead making reckless statements,” he said.
