… assures Uzodimma working for Kanu’s release

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has appealed to the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to rescind its decision on the proposed nationwide industrial action as well as the ongoing strike in Imo State.
While condemning the attack on the NLC President, Joe Ajaero during a press briefing in Owerri by its acting National youth leader, Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu on Thursday, the Igbo youth group noted that the blackout as a result of the strike has affected residents of the State.
He said “We must not fail to condemn in totality the assault and attack on the National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC- Mr. Joe Ajaero by some alleged Imo Unionists.
” This is unacceptable and totally defies the tenets of Democracy, we therefore call on the relevant authorities to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book to deter such barbarism, rather than let it to be swept under the carpet.
” However Justified and Lawful this action might be, we are very much concerned about the adverse effect on our fragile Society and the unhealthy Economy.
Okpalaezeukwu also seized the opportunity to clarify the allegation that the Imo State governor is blocking the release of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s (IPOB ) leader,Nnamdi Kanu said that its all fabricated lies.
“We also learnt about another allegation that some Stakeholders and Governors of Southeast are blocking the release of our Brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This is fallacy from the pit of hell and has no iota of truth in it.
He also noted that after due consultation with leaders of Ohanaeze, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and the youth’s grand Patron, Johnbosco Onunkwo as well as other stakeholders ,it was discovered that all allegation against the governor is false, rather he informed that the governor is working hand in glove with other Igbo stakeholders to ensure his Unconditional release.
