The National Centre for Technology Management(NACETEM) has appealed to Nigerians to stop migrating, adding that there are lots of opportunities in the country.

The Director General/ Chief Executive Officer of NACETEM, Dr Olushola Segun Odusanya made this disclosure at the workshop with public sector on opportunities, risks and challenges of artificial intelligence in Nigeria.

He stressed that Nigeria needs to create a digital work force to build critical thinking, that would enable the masses to understand intellectual activities in the country and across the globe.

He insisted that Nigeria can not be witnessing influx of foreign investors and artisans if it doesn’t have any thing to offer, ” I see a lot of opportunities here in Nigeria . The more we travel out of Nigeria ,the more foreigners come in to work. With this great numbers of people coming here to work,it means we have alot to offer but we seem to be missing out .
Nigeria need to actually create a digital work force to build critical thinking that will enable us to know what is happening in this country. That is why we are saying lets create a digital competent group of people who are ready for the fourth industrial revolution.
The fourth industrial revolution will be populated by artificial intelligence, deep learning and so many other ICT related thinking.”

Speaking about NACETEM, he said”we have already started using it to coordinate our meetings. Everybody who works in public service knows that we spend our time talking about the minutes of the last meeting and collecting grammar and all of the time that. If we aggregated the time we spend in do things, we realise that we could save time.”

“Using artificial intelligence, we have phantom note takers, we use to control information. Or we can even listen to the minutes of the last meeting while driving, without having to set up all that time that we spent.”

“So, it’s about efficiency in public service. We are trying to gather our best thoughts together and that’s why you can see a ground square of different arms of government from trades and investments, to SGF to agriculture to information on innovation science, coming here to discuss and form the first stages of the dialogue.”
