The Media and Strategy Office of the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Alh. Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman has urged the state governor, AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman to stop his “constant harassment and blackmail” of the state’s civil servants in his effort to get re-elected for a second term.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, signed by his special adviser on Media and Strategy, Abdulwahab Oba, the gubernatorial candidate said “while a governor like the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who has spent less than three years in office, has twice invited the president to his state to commission various projects inaugurated and completed by his administration, Gov AbdulRahman continues to blackmail innocent civil servants to testify to his phantom projects.

Reacting to a press release by the chief press secretary to the state governor, Rafiu Ajakaye which said principals of secondary schools who were invited by the governor, applauded the governor for his investments in education, the PDP candidate urged the governor to stop dragging civil servants to partisan politics to achieve his ever diminishing possibility of a second term bid.

According to the statement, ” few months to the end of his electoral mandate, Gov AbdulRaham has not been able to commission a single project other than celebrating painting of schools, and unjustifiably castigating previous administrations.

“We are aware for a fact that, like the parley with his media agents two weeks ago, the said consultation with the 300 heads of schools was carefully guarded and guided, with various speakers selected by government officials to act a prepared script. It was another drama by a confused government seeking for an undeserved attention.

“The N30,000 allegedly given to each head of school is not what will enhanced their welfare and secure their future, but a comprehensive welfare package that guarantees them and their families a sustainable health and housing benefits after retirement”, the statement added.
