The Emir of Zuru, Major-General (retd) Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo II, has advised Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris not to be distracted by the emerging political gimmicks being employed by politicians in preparation for 2027.

The royal father’s advice was contained in his congratulatory message to Comrade Governor Nasir Idris on his 60th birthday anniversary, signed by Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Sadaukin Zuru.

Sami said the governor has every reason to celebrate his birthday anniversary and be grateful to Allah for granting him the wisdom to remarkably transform the well-being of the people through the execution of valuable infrastructure.

The Emir observed that noticeable attempts have been made by some politicians to distract the governor from sustaining his administration’s comprehensive development programmes through known political gimmicks.

He, however, observed that, “although traditional rulers are apolitical, the truth must be told because it is not out of place to acknowledge and appreciate the remarkable development recorded so far on behalf of the beneficiaries who are our subjects,” the Emir said.

General Sami stated that the people of Zuru Emirate will remain indebted and prayerful to the governor for the reconstruction of the 87km Koko-Zuru federal road, which was abandoned, destroying the socio-economic fortunes of the emirate for decades.

The Emir also appreciated the renovation of dilapidated schools, the construction of new ones, and the recent provision of teaching and learning textbooks, in addition to the provision of free farming inputs to farming families among the benefits of the government to the people.

While praying for God’s guidance for Comrade Nasir, Garkuwan Zuru, the Emir urged him to remain steadfast and unshakeable in improving the well-being of the people.
