As the FIFA World Cup 2026 reaches its thrilling conclusion, StarTimes Nigeria and Meridianbet Nigeria have announced a partnership to host a major FIFA World Cup Final Watch Party in Lagos, bringing football fans together for an unforgettable match-day experience while celebrating one of the biggest sporting events in the world.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, will take place at King Jaja Hall, University of Lagos (UNILAG), where hundreds of football enthusiasts are expected to gather to watch defending champions Argentina take on Spain in what promises to be a fitting finale to an exceptional tournament.

The watch party will feature live entertainment, interactive fan activities, giveaways and the live broadcast of the FIFA World Cup Final, creating an exciting atmosphere for supporters to experience football’s biggest night together.

As one of the official broadcast partners of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Nigeria, StarTimes has delivered all 104 matches LIVE throughout the tournament and will broadcast the final live at 8:00 p.m. on ST World Football (Channels 254 & 245).

The event will also host the grand draw of StarTimes’ nationwide “Watch the World Cup. Win ₦10 Million” promotion, rewarding subscribers with life-changing prizes after six weeks of football excitement.

The draw will produce 22 winners, including: One winner of the ₦10 Million grand prize, seven winners of StarTimes H30 solar home systems, fourteen winners of StarTimes S130B Solar + TV bundles

Speaking on the partnership, Hassan Uthman, Vice President, Marketing, Meridianbet Nigeria, said the collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to delivering memorable experiences for football fans.

“Our partnership with StarTimes is built on a shared passion for bringing fans closer to the sports and entertainment they love. By combining StarTimes’ strength in delivering world-class sports content with Meridianbet’s commitment to creating engaging experiences for fans, we are able to take the excitement beyond the screen and create a space where people can come together, connect and enjoy the biggest moments in sports.”

Also speaking, Marketing Director, StarTimes Nigeria, Oke Umurhohwo, said the event is designed to celebrate football while rewarding loyal subscribers.

“The FIFA World Cup has brought millions of Nigerians together over the past six weeks, and we wanted to end the tournament in a memorable way. Beyond watching the biggest match in world football, this event is an opportunity to celebrate our subscribers by rewarding 22 lucky winners, including one person who will walk away with the ₦10 million grand prize. We are delighted to be partnering with Meridianbet Nigeria to deliver an exciting experience for football fans while celebrating the passion that unites us all.”

Throughout the tournament, StarTimes’ nationwide Watch & Win campaign has generated strong participation, with increased decoder activations, subscription renewals and customer engagement across its retail and dealer network.

Earlier in the competition, the company also introduced discounted decoder prices and made the FIFA World Cup available on its Basic Bouquet from just ₦4,000, ensuring more Nigerians could enjoy every match of football’s biggest spectacle.

With the final set to bring the curtain down on almost six weeks of football action across the United States, Canada and Mexico, attention will now turn to crowning the new world champions and announcing the winners of one of StarTimes’ biggest consumer promotions.

The organisers say the watch party represents a shared commitment by StarTimes and Meridianbet to create premium fan experiences that bring people together through sport, while celebrating the excitement, passion and community that make football the world’s most popular game.
