The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), under it’s “Start Your Own Business”, (SYOB) scheme has commenced training of 70 unemployed graduates in Benue State.
State Co-ordinator of NDE, Apochi Mathew, who spoke in Makurdi on Tuesday, said the training “Start Your Own Business (SYOB)” is one amongst the numerous scheme designed by the Directorate under the Small Scale Enterprises (SSE) to fight unemployment among young graduates of tertiary institutions in the country.
According to him, a total of 840 persons were currently undergoing the SYOB training in 12 states of the federation including Benue, with 70 participants from each.
The state Coordinator said those selected were being trained on how to convert themselves into full fledged potential entrepreneurs and wealth creators.
He stated that in Benue, the participants; male and female were drawn from across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state and are expected to undergo the training for one week
“The Directorate wish to accord those of you specially selected, the opportunity to undergo this training exercise for a period of one week to acquaint you with modern rudiments of how to write feasibility studies, how to get fund, how to establish, grow and run your businesses successfully,” he said.
Also speaking, the Head of Department,(HOD) of SSE in Benue, Dr Abeje Mfam, advised the participants to take advantage of the opportunity coming to them on a platter of gold and acquire their dream skills.
Mfam said the trainees would be opened up to the world of exceeding imagination that can launch them into an unending wealth creation.
