With thanksgiving and prayers offered to God, the management of Starfield College, Fagba, Lagos, sent forth 72 graduating students who recently completed their secondary education.

At the 24th Thanksgiving Service for the Class of 2026, the Director of Studies (DOS), college Principal and a Pastor gave thanks to God for the success of the students’ six year academic journey in the school.

The trio advised the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the college and face the task ahead with seriousness to achieve success in their next endeavour.

In his remarks, the college DOS, Mr. Chris Eigbe, said the event is meant to thank God for seeing the college through the concluded academic session and also for the lives of the graduating student.

Quoting the Bible from Thessalonians 5:18, to support the thanksgiving, he stressed, “this teaches us that gratitude is important not only in times of success, but also in periods of challenge and uncertainty.”

He further noted: “We thank God for preserving our students in good health, blessing their parents and guardians, and keeping our entire school community safe throughout the year.”

Eigbe lauded parents for their sacrifices, prayers, support, and partnership with the school, adding that their commitment contributed to the success of the students, and prayed that God would continue to bless them abundantly.

The Director encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and faithful as they move to the next stage of their lives, saying, “let the values of excellence, integrity, and hard work guide you. Dream big, work hard, and never lose faith. Your future will be brighter than today. Doors of opportunity will open for you, and by God’s grace, you will attain great heights.”

He commended the teachers for their dedication to the school’s vision and for their commitment to academic excellence, good character, and moral uprightness. He urged them to continue to nurture students and prepare them to thrive anywhere in the world.

“As our graduating students proceed to higher institutions, we wish them success and encourage them to remain good ambassadors of this school wherever they go,” the DOS stated.

The college Principal, Mrs. Sara Oyinloye, appreciated the Lord for the thanksgiving to mark the graduation of the class of 2026 students.

She explained that the annual service is to thank God for his mercies on the school, staff and students who in the last years were nurtured and tutored by the teachers.

Oyinloye showered encomiums on parents for their support to the college and the graduating students, adding, “tomorrow is great and the future for the college.”

The Pastor Moses Ogadi of Christ Elect Pentecostal Church, Lagos, told the gathering that when people give thanksgiving to the Lord, God would answer their prayers and do more for them.

Ogadi charged the graduating 72 students to always acknowledge the goodness of the Lord in their life.

He praised God for keeping the graduates throughout the six years of their secondary education, noting, “the graduation is evidence of God’s good work on the college and on the parents with finance to fund their education.”
